This is in part coming from an embedded journalist video taping a group of americans beating the skull in of an Iraqi "insurgent" through a sniper's scope and the American media not allowing the Footage to be aired, so he gave the footage to AlJazeera, they showed it. I have been folowing this story since it broke this a.m .
Its strange to me that the media outlets in this region of the world broadcast the public beheadings of their convicted criminals, but are chastized by the USA ( only now ) after showing the footage of Americans and a public beating. |
Media is controlled by people, people have agendas. Many westerns used to think that their media is not biased, that it shows the truth and only the truth. I never believed the media (neither mid east nor western), but at least stations like Al-Jazeera showed the world that believing the media blindly is absurd.
The new Iraqi government is nothing but a lame joke, an appointed government?, no one has the right to decide what the Iraqis' future should be except an elected leader who represets the majority of people.
