I had an abcess about two weeks ago. I knew something was wrong because about a 8 hours after the shot my arm was on fire. Most of the time I have some DOMS and I just continue to massage the affected area for about three days to reduce soreness but never experience pain. Well my shoulder was killing me. So the next day my deltoid was really swollen but I didn't think I had an absess. Just that it was really swollen and red and that maybe I injected into an artery or that I was injecting into my left deltoid too often.

Well day two you can see that it was swollen and filled with fluid. I kid you not it was the size of a baseball. I remember when my girlfriend had an abcess in her jaw after going to the dentist and it was huge. The doctor just gave her two PC shots and then gave her some antibiotic capsules to take 3 times daily and was also instructed to put warm towel on area many times daily.

I did the same thing minus the pc shots and in about 6 days abcess went away on its own. Didn't have to lance and drain at all.
