Default Re: Targex - The Ultimate Topical Fat Burner!

So we found the study done on 18 female medical students and medical staff in Italy. No one respects a study until it is repeated in several hundred or several thousand patients because the results aren’t significant.

1. 18 people is not an important result

2. they were not blinded, meaning they knew if they were using a placebo cream or a cream with GA (Glycyrrhetinic acid) – no one respects a study that is not double blinded. The people taking the measurements KNEW if there were supposed to see a result or not, making the measurements invalid. The changes found were so tiny that small unconscious biases have big effects.

3. there was 2 mm decrease - which is not noticeable without taking meticulous measurements - (16.8 – 14.7mm) in superficial layer thickness

4. (now these numbers are all going to be the averages of the 18 people’s measurements) - the thighs treated with placebo cream also lost 1 mm (18.3-17.6) and in treated in placebo group with from (17 to 16.3 mm) also a loss of 1 mm in superficial layer thickness. Therefore the cream with the drug and without the drug did almost the same thing, and the thing they did was about nothing.

5. treated thigh circumference 52.7 cm before and 52.4 cm after treatment with GA – 0.3cm is not noticeable without meticulous measurements and the same result was gotten by the women putting normal lotion on their thighs. The lotion had a propyl alcohol and an EDTA in it, therefore, they just dehydrated the skin a little bit, and that makes it a little thinner.
They lost 3 mm in circumference, that is the height of two stacked pennies (each penny is 1.49 mm thick) (spread out across the circumference of an average thigh = NOTHING).

6. The active ingredient is GA and it is supposed to block an enzyme called 11betahydroxysteroid dehydrogenase and it DOES do that, but it can’t work from the skin because 11-HSD2 is found in the kidney and colon (see below) and so it doesn’t ever find the enzyme that it is supposed to act on. It DOES find this enzyme when you take it orally and blocks the plaque on your teeth and can act as an expectorant. But you can’t get those benefits by eating the lotion either.

“ … glucocorticoid receptor and mineralocorticoid receptor (MR)—is controlled by isoenzymes of 11-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (11-HSD). The principal location of 11-HSD2 is in mineralocorticoid target tissues (kidney and colon)…”

These people are trying to sell normal mild lotion as weight control cream to anyone gullible enough to buy their crap. Know you know more about their cream than all the other guys. Don’t be one of those gullible consumers who gives their money away for nothing.
