Using a mixed grip on deads caused a very noticable difference on my lower back. The left side is a lot thicker and stronger than the right side. Now i perform deads with the opposite mixed grip and it seems to be working pretty good but it feels kinda uncomfortable.

Anyway, when it comes to the traps, i guess one sided training could work as well but then you would probably have strength imbalances.

PS: It's normal for all people to have a bigger and stronger side. If you keep an eye on it though it can't get bad or very noticeable at least.
