Great Advice from Dennis. Couple of things I would add to the shopping list.

Canned Tuna 1.00/can
Whey Protein .40/serving
Wheat Bread cheap
Quaker Oats .10/serving <-------that's a steal, you can barely buy a piece of gum for 10 cents.
Brown Rice Also very cheap.
