Depends on your goals, your recovery time, which muscle grps you are training. Everything is a guideline. I can do abs with weights everyday...calfs 2x a wk if I wanted to without too much soreness..Shoulders 2x a wk if I could find more days in a week

But it mostly depends on the weightloads you use and your recovery. Go by what your body tells you. You will know when you are doing too much--when you can barely move

Read up a bit here...many member here have schooled me in the fact that major muscle grps can be divided up in the week too..doesn't have to be all done on the same day. I guess we just need to know a little more about what you are trying to do..Good luck though
