I don't think that would help. It's the
concentration of BA in the shot that's the problem, not the absolute amount of BA.

That's one way that will work. The best way to dilute your gear is to draw some sterile oil into the
syringe after you've drawn your gear. This is commonly called "cutting" the gear. You can get some sterile oil online
from places like this. One time when I had painful gear, I added .5ml of sterile oil for every 1ml of gear I drew. The injection went from incredibly sore to painless.
