Default Re: Let me know what you think...

I've used accutane several times personally on dosages of about 20 mgs a day. Get your blood checked every week if you're using an oral steroid and accutane, every two weeks should do it if you're just using the accutane. That will let you know if your liver is getting screwed up or not.

As far as accutane causing IBD and everything else that gets blamed on accutane alone...
most people would not have developed such severe reactions if they worked their way up in dosage, kept doses reasonable, and had the proper bloodwork done frequently enough to catch any complications early enough to do something about them.

Accutane DOES make you MUCH more sensitive to light and sunburn. Stay out of it if you're on or wear a fairly heavy sunblock. Also, keep your lips moisturized from day 1 otherwise they're going to chap up like a mofo.

Accutane should ONLY be used as a "last" resort for people with exceptionally bad acne that OTC acne medications can't resolve.

One little whitehead isn't justification.
