Default 4 Weeks Out, Please Critique

Hello,

Finally had the time today to put this video up on You Tube. Here I was exactly 4 weeks out from the 2009 NPC Rocky Mountain Championships. I weighed 212 pounds and will be competing as a lightheavyweight.

After checking out the vid I definitely knew I needed the entire 4 weeks (plus, lol) to get stage ready. Over the past two weeks I slowly switched things up, started that last phase of supps, and the carbs are almost non existant...needless to say things are going awesome and I am definitely going to be ready to rock on November 14th!!!

I totally realize I have a state level (not even regional level) physique at this time, but in talking with the family and my support system in 2010 and 2011 we will be taking competing very seriously. Over the years our personal training business has grown and these past couple years I have been dying to get back onstage. So slowly but surely as time allows we are tightening the bolts and setting things up for success in the years to come.

Well anyway let me know your thoughts. I was surprised at how the last % of bodyfat has slipped off once the carbs dropped and cardio was spiked up.... also let me know your thoughts on overall genetics. Thanks...

Jim

I think your chest ,delts, arms and thighs are looking ballanced and good.I think you could afford to concentrate a bit more on traps and back {maybe heavy shrugs & Bent over BB rows}.
Calves may need a bit more width and depth{I find seated calf raises good for this}
The lower back will hopefully lose a bit more in the next couple of weeks without the carbs.
Hope you have some stims.
You look good over all though and should come out looking presentable with a nice tan

Thanks...

We had a hang up at 5 weeks out and then everything came through and this last phase has worked wonders man. I started tanning daily at 4 weeks out and am very pleased with my conditioning at this point. I would have liked to slow down this last phase a bit but had no choice... I definitely have never been this eager to be onstage. I wanted more time when we shot the vid and felt rushed.... now I am eager to compete and ready to get onstage. My lower back has significantly improved and my glutes/hams look significantly better.

Thanks for the advice. Take care....

jim

Jim, First let me say "Wow..great job!"..You really have to total package and look better than I ever could.I am guessing this is not a natural competition? If not then what are you on ,tell us about the cycle.OK..Now for the critique : I would love to see the lats get wider and for you to lose those sox and shoes !

No the Rocky is not a tested show... however I competed in the Natural Southern Colorado earlier this year after a guest posing appearance. Honestly the older I get and with the online business 90% of my time is focused on training other for shows vs. competing myself. I still love competing though and am definitely doing the Rocky 100% with the hopes of qualifying for the USA/Nationals next year.

Thanks for the feedback I can't wait to be onstage!

We will definitely take a ton of photos on the day of the show.... if I have time this weekend I'll throw one up here but honestly man I am so busy and drained the show is the main focus at this point. I'll definitely throw up a ton of photos after we get back from the show though!!!

Also we shot some videos that are going to be put together the month after the show as well. Most of the vids were shot at 4 weeks out and some had some offseason training (which is much more exciting I think, lol). Anyhow a friend is helping us piece all of that together along with the final results from the show... so all in all we will have some good material out there in the next month or so....

Well gotta go eat....
