Default Pain in wrist from bench press

Hey guys, it seems like whenever i bench press now days my wrists seem to hurt really bad when i'm done. i have used wrist wraps but they do not seem to do anything for me. i have tried gripping the bar differently, but some grips i feel uncomfortable with (i feel like i don't have control of the bar) and the one i normallly use, just wrap hands around bar and grip seems to hurt really bad when i'm done and sometimes while i'm pressing the weight up. any recommendation? thanks

wrist raps worked for me...make sure they are tight and most of all when you bench keep your wrist straight and in alignment with your arm. (let someone spot you and lift the bar for you...that will help the wrist from bending taking it off the rack)..other than that...not much you can do other than take the pain....

I found that building up my forearms and doing grip exercises helped with alleviating some of my wrist pain.

Curls with any kind of bar frequently do this to me. As for the benching I'm with Bigkarch. Have someone lift the bar off to get you started. When you're done instead of just loosening your grip entirely all at once sloooowly let go. That keeps mine from hurting as bad when doing curls with a bar. Lemme know if it helps.

I do heavy barbell shrugs without straps - up to 405lb for reps of 5. My left wrist was killing me. I switched to putting the bar behind me and lightened up the weight and the pain while benching went away.

There is probably some other exercise that is putting additional stress on the tendons or ligaments. See if there's anything you can change up, or even take a week off of training if you can.

I have the same thing and there is a bump forming in my wrist. The doctor said it was a ganglion cyst and happens to bodybuilders often. Do you have any noticiable bumps growing by writst?

I just had my MRI results translated to me. I had extreme pain only when doing concentration curls. Xrays and MRI stated I have Keinbock's Disease. Basically , I have a bone in the center of my wrist that is bruised and is not healing. If not treated then the bruised bone could disolve.

I bought a pair of good gloves recently and they seem to do a pretty good job of supporting my wrists as well.
