I think the real answer is somewhere in the middle. A lot depends on the environment in which you work. If independent thought is not appreciated in your workplace, then youll only get ahead if youre a "yes man." Other departments/companies thrive on people willing to question the status quo and dont want a bunch of asskissers. Your job, as an employee, is to find the place that best fits your personality and contribute accordingly.

Some people{especially bosses} will give you shit until you stick up for yourself and give them a bit back,then they shut the fuck up,but usually need a turn up on a six month or yearly basses. Alot of people say my mother of father always told me this or that,but mum and dad are just another fool on the planet and could be just as wrong as you about things. Dont worry about carrier advances most of the time it comes down to being johny on the spot. |
