Default Bad day/made good

So it's a nice day and I decide to take my motorcycle out for a little drive around town. Decide to cruise through old town and check everything out. I'm then leaving and going down a hill with a turn at the bottom. I downshift and prepare for the stop ahead. This is the point where some asshole in a white Accord decides it would be a good idea to pull out of a business complex and cut me off. I have to do a fucking panic stop, and I am still in the turn and countersteer as much as possible to keep the bike vertical. There is still no way I am gonna stop in time and I go down. I was only going about 10-15mph, moderate road rash on my arm and scrape on my exhaust and little road rash on my fairing. Meanwhile there are people standing in the parking lot that see the whole thing. The cocksucker bounces out, I'm on the side of the road and I have to get my shit together before I get run over. All these people that see the incident think I'm like seriously injured and are offering to call 911 and all this stuff. I told them I was fine and put my bike in neutral and walked it into the complex. This cool ass lady stuck with me and was talking with me to make sure I was ok and telling me I had a nice bike and too bad the guy cut me off...I'm in the middle of a re-location and this was some unneeded bullshit, I just thank God that I am perfectly fine and everything is OK. The good that came though is when I went and purchased a tight ass new laptop today which I am typing this thread on. Just goes to show you can't control other people, but when you're feeling down just go drop a couple thousand on a cool toy. Sorry for the rant, you are amazing if you read this whole thing.

Driver bounced, I am not so pissed about the bike its only about $300 dollars worth of damage or so, I am just pissed that I could have been badly injured due to his stupidity and I just really didn't need this at my time in my life.

Don't let my experience dictate your decision I still love riding and went for a ride today, just when you are on a bike you are way more vulnerable and have to constantly be alert. If you are gonna buy one just make sure you can afford it if you drop it and you have good riding experience. I thinks it's 70% of new riders will drop their bikes or be involved in an accident/incident in their first 5 months.

Thanks bro. Actually been riding for 16 years (not much street riding in the last 5 years). Last bike I owned was a Yamaha YZ426F. Lived where I could ride it but sold it a couple years ago. Due to my job I don't have much free time to ride in the dirt so have been looking at getting a streetbike. Got my MC license when I was 16 and have kept it since. I used to ride with my dad all the time as it was his hobby. He always kept 6-7 bikes in the garage at all times and they ran from BMW's, Triumphs, MotoGuzzi's, Duc's, pretty much anything that was european. He also always had some sort of jap bike crotch rocket and had a Harley once that I can remember. Guess I am just partial to the european bikes due to their personalities. I know exactly what you're saying when talking about being constantly alert. You pretty much have to act like everyone is out to get you. If you don't you're going to get hurt. Riding a bike epitomises the phrase "defensive driving".
