The 2012 prediction has scientists baffled as well. Planets will be aligned as never before in recorded history, which they claim could quite possibly have a huge effect in the way this planet responds. Who knows. It sounds like something out of a movie, but whos to say it cant/wont happen.

syzygies are fairly common, and at no point in 2012 is there anything especially particular about the orbit and/or alignment of the Earth, the planets, the solar system, or the galactic arm....there is exactly nothing special about 2012 on the cosmic scale.
scientists aren't baffled by 2012 at all, only by the suckers crying about it.

the Mayan calendar recycles on 2012 the same way dec 31st becomes january 1st, n the same way 1999 becomes 2000. exactly nothing more. A 'very entertaining, shrooming hippie dirtbag named Terence McKenna eventually decided to market 2012 as an "Apocalypse" he could make money off of, except he was too high to tell his tale consistently n told of a different Ultimate Disaster in almost every venue he went to. By the time he died several years ago, the bandwagon-effect had already begun, and has since accelerated with every huckster selling a different script...most of them alot lamer then the trippy horrors he concocted.

at least Nostradamus is an older scam, by about 10 years...The Simpsons "TreeHouse Of Horrors X" Y2K-scenario was more plausible!

Someone told me they thought it was possible that this would be the end of the world. People are usually surprised by my opinion that if it were the end of mankind, would it be so terrible?

The things that are most upsetting about death are the thoughts of the sadness we will feel about the idea of leaving behind the people we care for or the thoughts of grief they have in the event we departed. However, if everyone died, there would be nobody left to be sad because we would all be dead. Not too terrible if you ask me.

On the plus side, I wouldn't have to pay back all my grad school loans...

There is no doubt we are living in the end times.Read the book of revelations.Everything is falling into place,it seems our current administration is only bringing about the ends times quicker.
