OT, my man! How the hell are ya? Quit disapearing all the time. I would imagine that "trapping" would be the purposeful set up of a guy for a strike or submission. Act as though you were injured or get in a bad position on purpose in order to spring a "trap". But I'm probably off on that one. |

OT, glad to see you around! I was thinkin about you the other day, wondering how you and the Mrs. are doin. You ever make it to Dubai with the little lady?

I was thinking, OT. You might have misunderstood what he said. Considering there is two days of striking and then a measely one day of wrestling/grappling, I think he said "tapping". You have to have a whole day devoted to "tapping" since you'll be doing lots of it. Bwahahahahahahhaa!!!

.I asked him about trapping and he said it's like dirty boxing, he says you don't need to clinch, you don't need to take the guy to the ground or mount, you just need to close the gap. He says it's effective against strikers (coz they need some space) and grapplers. I'm so thrilled about this new gym, the guys are great, two of them might be going to the US (their goal is the UFC someday), they're not in it for the money, they just want to test their talents. One guy is a kickboxer-turned-into-MMA-fighter who is awesome, he's got the hardest punch around, i truly believe he'll make some serious noise in the US. One of the guys is injuried now, whenever he's back in shape, i'll see if i can find a promoter. -OT |

. I'm not into this game to beat anyone, or to fight professionaly (too old for that), i'm in it becuase i love it. When I tap, I don't tap in shame, on the contrary, it makes me feel like I've learned something new, i try to figure out why i got caught and how i can avoid it next time.-OT |

Too old, hah! LOL I think you're younger than I am and I'm not even in my prime as a fighter yet. Hell, didn't Couture teach the world a lesson? Anyhow, I can understand why someone would want to stay out of MY clinch(damn, those knees must hurt! ) but why would a guy on the offensive actively try and keep from taking the head? I don't get it. I'm sure there's some useful stuff to be learned in tapping...uh, I mean trapping...but I think I'll stick to head control and knees to the face. Of course, if you pick up anything cool (besides ring worm ) let me know.
