Miranda, we talked about 18 months ago. She married a guy from her church. She emailed me some picks of Macie (her little girl and of her newfound husband). I am really really happy for Miranda. She says this new guy is a very strong Christian, loves going to Church activities, and has already adopted her daughter. I am just really really happy she has found a great man.

So how do you ever find "the one", Ian, if you just completely throw all your morals right out the window?? I mean I am at a bar with my friends, and I see a really cute girl that I am very interested in. Obviously, I am going to introduce myself and be a complete gentleman. I will make her laugh and joke with her so hard that she'll be falling out her stool, because that's just the type of person I am. When I go out, I am a ton of fun to be around, I am a goofball.

OK so I get her #, and we decide to go out. I am not interested in just going out with a girl 4 or 5 times. I am 32. I am an old man. I mean that is prett ymuch a disgrace Ian - 32 years-old and unmarried. No I definitely don't just want f our or five dates. I would like to 1)Become best friends 2)earn her trust 3)Become friends with her GF's and BF's. 4)Have a serious long-term relationship. I mean alot of the advice I have been given in this thread, from pretty much everyone seems very unconducive to a long-term,, meaningful relationship.

Maybe I am misinterpreting everyone's advice and if I am, I apologize. You know I love you Ian and don't wanna piss you off.

But if the cocky asshole gets the girl 80% of the time, what %age of the time do you think that relationship will blossom into a serious, long-term relationship?? My guess is maybe not too many. times. And if for some chance the cocky asshole and the girl get married, are you aware that something like 57% of marriages end in divorce?? I just am not 100% sure that some of the advice I have been given is conducive to being part of that other 43% statistic - a SUCCESSFUL marriageand partnership.

Again, I could be completely misinterpreting yall's advice and if I am, I apologize.

And Ian, yes, Miranda was a very important part of my life for about 8 months. I think about her and Macie every so often.

I don't see any problems with me being extremely happy for her for finding that one wonderful man. I mean I loved this girl. I loved her. And now she is very, very happy. That is wonderful, that is awesome.

Honestly DBP, I dont know. I was just trying to cheer ya up. It just takes longer for some then others,, doesnt mean you wont meet someone. But it is important to consider the possibility that waht you have been doing up to now has not given you the results you desire,, correct?
So maybe it is time to try a different approach, and I dont mean act like a douchbag, allways be respectfull.. What is that saying,, something like: If you keep doing the same thing over and over you will allost allways get the same results.. Something like that
