gettin of the pain meds

whats up bros. i got hurt at work a while a go. had 3000 lbs of iron dropped on my foot ankle and leg. anyways they have had me on some serious meds, oxycontin 160 mg's twice a day, and 20 mg oxycodone liquid for breakthrough pain anytime throughout the day. i'm sick of sitting around and doing nothing and being a slave to these damn pills. i've lost almost 40 lbs and feel weak as ever. anyways anybody got any tricks to getting of theses things. everytime i try i get naseous and jittery, cold sweats, hot sweats and a runny nose that doesn't quit. any advice to make it a little more comfortable would help. thanks.

here it is bro, dont take it the wrong way, GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASS that is the only way bro, doing more things will help keep your mind off things, I broke my back this year and also had a gallbladder rupture and needed surgery, both were at different times. I was on heavy meds also and I know a few meso bros will say I was also. but I got off my ass and did shit, its hard and if I had tyhe chance to get hold of more pain meds fuck yes I will pop those babies in. Now if your in pain you need to take something. I advise to go to counsiling, i have heard many people fuck there life up because of pain meds. My Mother was and still is a addict to pain meds, I have not seen or heard from her in about 11 years and I dont want to. I have a step mom who is awsome. the only way is your will to do it, SO GET OFF THAT ASS AND DO IT. many good bros here on meso will help you through it bro.

i also hurt my back a couple of years ago . i was on 10-10mg,percs a dayfor a year.i went to a pain clinc , they droped the percs slowly, added non narcative meds in place of the percs , with willpower and faimly and friends it worked out good. but there are times i wont more, but i refuse to use them. you will feel so much better off that shit , but it takes a lot of will power and help.

try cold turkey... i know ive never been in the situation, but i would probably rather crush my pills so i have no choice, and deal with being sick as fuck for a week or two then spending money on rehab and stuff that in the end is up to you anyway.....

First, get professional help. Do not try to go cold turkey alone. There could be serious health repercussions.

Ask a doctor to help you taper down, slowly switching to less powerful pain medications and maybe eventually to an agonist/antagonist.

Get professional help. If it were so easy to go cold turkey, there would be no such thing as an addict.

Would you consider it stupid to double your pain medication daily without your doctor’s supervision? Then you should consider it stupid to cut your daily pain medication in half without your doctor’s supervision.

You shouldn’t even be asking this board for advice on such things, just go straight to your pain management doctor.
