Default Getting into Medical Field (Nurse etc.) - WITHOUT....

Having done the 2 or 3 years schools?

Does anyone know, how this could be done.
I am very intrigued by the idea, that you make about $ 40 000,- and up for example as a nurse and you only work for three days!?

Or any other Medical field related jobs (in Hospitals) that make you earn $ 40 000,- and up while working only three days a week!!!

What advices can you give, what kind of experiences do you have? Would you know of places I could get in touch with to find out all the details?

Ever heard of or done the Medical Transcripter thing? What's the deal with that? is it good money, can you really work from home?

thanks
AJay

BSN's make goo money...
i know a chic who got her first job out of college in the hospital, $48,000 plus $5,000 signing bonus.

2nd year, she is at $80,000/yr, plus any contract work she does is extra(makes and extra $2,000/month on contract work in addition to the $80,000/yr.
also gets a company car and insurance!

not too bad....let me tell you, she isnt dumb but not the smartes either.

i got friends who are engineers, dean's list, magna cum laude from college and they are at about 65,000/yr after working for 5 years in the big cities.

borrachopower thanks for your help, let me ask you what's a BSN's ?
Could you probably give my e-mail adress to her and ask her if I could ask her a few questions on what her job is like, what hours, how to get where she is at etc. etc.

Quasimoto, thanks to you as well
same question: what is a RN?
Can you give your wife also my e-mail, so I can ask her more detailed stuff.....what education or classes she recommends etc. etc.

MY E-MAIL: ajayalejandro@ziplip.com

That means she has a Bachelors in Nursing= 4 years of college.

I used to work in a hospital, in some conditions some RN's have to provide complete care for their patients, bathing, feeding, changing adult diapers.

Yes they can make some good money, but the job is NOT for everyone.

Just ask a nurse, who has been on the job for at least five years.

Good luck on your choice.

I dont know of any RN that changes diapers and gives baths. Thats what nurses aides do, the crappy work that the RNS wont/refuse to do (and for good reason). But RNs do make decent money depending on the local market.

To Bump Bobs post a little, in any instance where there is a union involved, there is sooo no fucking way that an RN is changing diapers. The CNA's do that job, after all, by the union forcing the issue like that, its another person to pay union dues.

working only three days a week may sound like fun, but keep in mind that the shifts are gonna SUCK. i've heard people having shifts that last anywhere from 20-24 hours at a time. make sure you inform yourself more about the actual job your gonna do before you jump into it. the money sounds too good to be true, but you're gonna have to work for it just like any other job.

Then your friends didn't plan their careers well enough. I make around 80k-90k US$ per year between salary/bonus etc. (without the stock options) tax free. They want me to go under the US payroll now (political reasons) which means i'll be making around 110k-120k US$ per year (but i'll have to pay taxes). I'm not the smartest person, I was not the best back in school (i finished around 5 years ago).

I could make more but i like my job.

Depends on your location bro, I am in the midwest and for the engineering field I am in (RF Design) I would have a hard time finding work at my base of 85K. I have been doing this for almost ten years. Stock options and bonuses can add a hefty amount in good years. About 5 years ago many guys left the Corp I work for and took 6 figure jobs around cali and texas. I only know of 2 that are still employed. East coast and west coast have the best $$, but unless it is a defense contractor, and even then, you never know how long it will last.

True. Also, my field is one of the best in terms of payment, unlike prime engineering fields (mech, civil, chem etc.), mine is IT.

well, i dont know, may just be bad luck...these guys would be studying on frid/sat nights when everyone was out having fun.
my bud worked for Raytheon. JDS Uniphase(when it was doing good), and not is at the new products division of DELL. still, poor guy is way underpayed. he may as well be cleaning Michael Dell's toilets for the same salary!

i can tell you myself---she is always on the road with home health. she is one of the few that really does care about patients--her bosses just think about $$$$$.
LVN's and nurse;s aide's are the ones that do the "dirty work". however, nurse's are more knowledgeable when it comes to pathology or understanding Dr's orders/diagnosis.
even then, 2 more years you can get Nurse Practitoner degree(pretty much the equivalent of a Physician's assistant) and make 6 figures easy.
