Default hernia HELP!

I have an abdominal hernia. It's about the size of a marble just above my belly button. When I push it, it goes back in...but when I flex my stomach it pops back out. Anyone ever had a hernia before? I want to fix it, but don't want to miss much of my weight lifting...dilema. Any input, or any direction you can steer me toward?

Ok, you've got two choices....get it fixed and miss out on about 2 months of lifting or leave it alone and get something vital stuck in there, have the blood supply get cut off, it dies, you need surgery to fix that and miss 4-6 months of lifting and perhaps now have to deal with a new problem from whatever it was that died in there now not working properly (like if a small section of intestine died and was removed)

I just had an inguinal hernia repaired. It hurts like a bitch to use your abs for about 2 weeks afterward...in fact the first three days I couldn't even sit up without assistance it hurt so much! But, it was worth it. I'd rather have gone through that pain then have what some consider to be a disablement which will not allow me to get certain jobs or may even cause me even worse medical problems.

My advice, get it fixed....esp now while you're young.
