Hey law dogs- parking tickets

Happy birthday to me! I got 3 parking tickets last night. Two are the same fucking thing and worded differently...those sneaky fucks! Anyhow, the town is 40 miles away from where I live. I'll be good goddamned if those fuckers get any of my money. Is there a problem with not paying tickets from a town 40 miles away that I will visit maybe another 10 times in my life?

most likely it will just be on your credit report for years to come. Dont think an out of county warrant can be issued.

Well I am no legal expert. I have just had several runins. I would not be surprised if they can issue warrants for same county offenses. Wont come hunt u down but might haul u off if u get pulled over for something. I dont know. I didnt know i had one until i applied for a business loan and a parking ticket from JUCO was on there for like 15 bucks. It had to be 6-7 years old and was still on my credit report. Than I had to pay the ones off in Davenport b4 i could sell my house there b/c of liens the city put on my property lol

Sure, that would be like getting a ticket for speeding and another one for not following the posted speed limit from the same officer that pulled you over.

Grizz than can actually issue a bench warrant for your arrest...(Failure to pay fine or failure to appear in court) they can also Suspend your drivers license..or impound your car.. or even all three..

You need to call the courthouse..complain about the "three" tickets and see if you can get one of them booted.. and just pay the other two..

Trust me grizz... you don't want to "not pay" them.

I would argue the double ticketing for the same offense. Based on what your driving record already is, I would pay the tickets, but not before going to court and arguing against all of them. Half the time they will throw out one of them or give you some type of break just for showing up.

How much are the parking tickets for? If it's very little, you should probably just pay them. If they're expensive, or it's "the principle of the thing," you can probably contest them - successfully that is. Personally, I've gotten out of hundreds of dollars worth of tickets just by doing a little research. In NY, the relevant statute states that everything on the ticket must be written correctly and completely legible (I'm paraphrasing obviously). If anything, I mean anything (I once got off by arguing that I was not properly put on notice of my violation because my license plate contains a 'T' and the curvature of the bottom of the letter the meter maid had written made it look more like a 'J') is wrong or unclear on the ticket you will probably be able to get out of it - in NY anyway. I'd imagine it's similar for most states, but you'd have to look at the applicable statute.

If it occured in a low populated county than demand a jury trial. They normally will drop most shit just so they dont have to round up a jury. That has worked for me many times

well in my state, failure to pay the ticket or show up in court is FTA ...they suspend your license for that, then you get caught for that its drivibg while license revoked...i went without license for 5 years over a fucking seat belt ticket....go to court they will at least drop 1 of them
