injection phobia

My fiance thinks it's really weird that I use a 23ga needle and I obviously have to watch myself jab myself. In a couple weeks I'm even starting a testosterone prop cycle injecting eod. But like yesterday we were watching that The Doctors show and I cringed when they poked a guy with a tiny needle to numb his armpit. I think it may be since I can control the needle when I pin myself that I don't have a problem with it, whereas if a doc stabs me I have no control no matter what size needle. I'm not looking for answers to question or anything, just seeing if anybody else is similar or if this weird.

well it obviously sounds like ur reacting to either a real experience of having suffered during a loss of control, or to some conceptualized possibility of being harmed during a loss of control.

needles per se seem incidental to ur fear....

Ive never had a phobia of them, I brace myself a little when its about to go in but thats about it.

Even doing myself my first injection didnt care, I just rubbed the spot and stuck that bitch right in there Lol, I was actually on the phone at the time aswell.

Yeah, i don't mind injecting myself but i find it hard not to start swearing when a doc gives me an injection. I am actually afraid of other people trying to inject me and i have reacted really badly when i was a young kid.

I don't react anymore but i get frustrated and anyone can tell.

Yep, I'd say the loss of or inability to be in control is why I've never even been on a roller coaster. Even log flumes and ferris wheels scared the shit out of me as a kid.

i have no prob with pinning myself but also dont like watching others stick me...nor can I watch others take needles...dont know why just weirds me out to see the needle go in.
