I just helped my friend move to vegas and I figured out a couple things while I was there. Bad Side: Hopefully doesn't apply to you My friend wen't to the hotels for any kind of job, e.g. bouncing in there clubs, bartender, dishwasher at there buffet, basically anything. Got turned down at every place because he needed a sherrif's card from pennsylvania. He had a felony for rec drugs and couldn't get one. So my friend ended up having to come back to P.A. with me because the only job he could get was at Target or IHOP. So if you have ANY kind of felony(s) you won't get even a bouncer job. Good Side: Hopefully apply's to you: If you have a high school education and no record jobs are plentiful for good money out there. Hell if you get in the union for vegas your set. Dishwashers make $10 an hour, bartenders $14 an hour plus tips, the bartender at the Rio told us he made $57,000 the previous year. Basically Cheaps houses, cheap cars, nice place to live, many things to do, plus you DON"T PAY STATE TAX WHEN YOU BECOME A NEVADA RESIDENT. I would say deff make the move if your girl already has a job set for her, if you don't apply to the bad side you will get a job EASY. Peace bro hope everything works out for you. |

Grizz, If I were you, I'd go to your local library, get the Vegas yellow pages, pick up the phone and call half a dozen clubs. Get through to the manager and advise you're experienced but have a misdemeanor and would they still consider hiring you? Being next door in Cali, I've got friends who have moved to NV and prices have really gone up in the past few years. As far as $150k homes around Vegas, possible if they're older, smaller, not in such a great neighborhood and/or need a little fixing up. However, there are plenty in that price range available. Go to this website: http://www.lasvegasnewspapers.com/realestate/ Click on the "resale homes" link on the left and you'll find hundreds of homes available between $125k-$200k. A $150k mortgage would run you about $900/month + property taxes and insurance. Good luck, MaxRep

I am in the big city now. I think the Chicagoland area has 10 millions of people. Maybe it's only 8. It's definitely a fuckload better than the sticks fo' sho! Housing is just a tad on the side of expensive, though. Where can I find a deal like that monsoon? |
