ok no bullshit here this is a question for a friend(i know that sounds made up but seroiusly) he got cought over the summer with 1/2 a gram of coke(which is like nothing really) and he's on something called PTI(pre-trail-intervention)meaning if he passes drug tests and stays out of troulbe for a year the charge is droped everything gets expunged(erased,i'm a bad speller not sure if that's the proper way to spell expunged). so anyway he goes to see this lady he must meet with once a month and she give him a swab to stick in his mouth he assumes it's for a drug test. his question is A. was it for a drug test? and B. how far back can this new test detect any drugs? pot, and yes sadly coke are his main concerns. any ideas about this guys?
Tell him not to be a stupid fuck! This sounds like he's still using. Cocaine is a felony charge. A felony charge = the rest of your life being fucked up. You can't even get financial aid for college if you ever been convicted of simple misdemeanor drug posession. He couldn't even get into college or most jobs as a felon.
If he can't stay clean for a year, then he really does need to get fucked by the judicial system. Granted, I hate our drug laws and I don't think it's anybody's business what you, he or I put in our bodies, but the fact is that the laws exist and if he gets busted for this he is F-U-C-K-E-D for the next 60 years of his life.
Couldn't have said it any better, and yes that is a new type of drug test

With all the technology out now,i wouldn't take a chance. I know he has set days to go in to see his probation officer, but they can also call him anytime they want. Tell him to get a job and stop putting that garbage in his body.

lol wow now he's a worthless bum with no job cause he blew a few lines of coke...oh man. i'm wasn't going to begin this whole thing but that line is too much. i'm sorry to say that contrary to what the DEA might have you believe you can infact do recreational drugs and hold down a decent paying job. granted i'm sure everyone here is extremely anit-drug when it comes to recreatinal drugs and i won't even go into how hypocritical that is coming from drug users themselves(a drug is a drug weather you sniff it, or shoot it). but i must comment and let you all know that i live in a place where people can do drugs on occasion on the weekend or vacation, and then resume there normal day to day jobs. some of those jobs being teachers, lawyers, and yes even members of law enforcement. sadly some people can not use recreational drugs in this manner and abuse them thus giving them a really bad name, sounds filmier right? like the kid who starts juicing at 16 and doesn't stop for 10 years and then develops seroius problems. kind of makes all of steroids seem bad. yet if you do them, like anything else, with proper knowledge and restraint they're ok. now i know this is very very hard for most to swallow due to the fact that you where brought up in different areas of the US then myself, but oddly my city it's not very uncommon to find people who use drugs and are also good normal people. it seems that no one has a problem with people going out to drink once or twice on a weeked. alcohol being a drug that's ok because you've grown accustomed to it socially and no one really looks down on that. when a problem develops such as abusing drinking well then everyone sees that as a problem, but social recreational drug use is always viewed as a problem regardless of if it is or not. now i know i'm not going to change your views because most of you are older and it's inbeded into your mind that drugs are horrible terrible things and those who do them are useless to society and are bad people. so i really dont know why i'm posting this but to the few open minded ones i do hope you understand not everyone who does drugs is a "jobless" bum. or even needs "help" for that matter. i would never say a friend who goes out and drinks once a week needs help. nor would i say a guy who does coke every once and a while needs help. it's only when that bad habit is no longer under control and then interferes with his day to day activities, then they should seek help. i just find it so amusing that some would view what we do, steroids as "putting garbage in our body" and yet we have that view of others as well. i guess everyone needs to point a finger at someone to make their bad habits seem better.
I'm sure that there are people out there who can use
drugs and lead a normal life. But....If your friend:
a) got busted for drugs
b) is on probation for drugs
c) know he has to test for drugs
d) still uses drugs
then a+b+c+d= He's got a problem to deal with before it deals with him.
Now that was a good point. Very good. Now, I'm not an anti-druggie by any means. In fact, I've been known to blow a line or thirty while getting good and hammered and smoking pot and rolling and...well, you get the point. However, you said it best. When the rest of your life is hanging in the balance and you continue to use drugs, then it's a problem.

exactly....i used pretty much every illicit substance that man created, for a very long time...if you can use with no negative consequences, then great for you.... like grizz said tho if youre bout to piss away your entire future for a buzz then you have more problems than just a drug test....also dont fall for the old a drug is a drug is a drug bullshit....if you think there is no difference between an aspirin and heroin, or intelligent use of steroids, and someone who cant leave the coke and weed alone for 1 damn year , then you got a lot to learn
