Ok here’s my question. I guess it’s really more of a survey style. Anyway I have always wondered what experiences others have had with their strength gains on and off cycles.
IMO the three main areas are bench press, dead lifts, and squats.
I am 6’2, 215 lbs, and 15% bf. My normal cycles are
test 500mg and
deca 400mg or
sus 750mg and
deca 400mg. I have gone through five cycles in five years.
Bench Press: Off cycle is 295lb. On cycle 325lb.
During my last cycle I was able to lift the 295lb three times before failure. When I am off cycle like now I just about bust the blood vessels in my head to lift it one time.
Dead lifts: Off cycle is 325lb. On cycle is 385lb. Got to love the dead lift.
Squats: Honestly I have never maxed out on these. I pretty much sit-down on my squats as they are my favorite lift. I work out with 325lb. Off cycle I will do three sets of four. On cycle I will do four sets of five at this weight.
It seems that during each cycle my average strength gain has been between 10 and 20%. I have always kept about 50% of the gain post cycle. At any rate just curious on what others are accomplishing and their cycles.
