I had a friend stay there for 4 mths and come back and he said it is very poor there and b-jobs and oral is about 3 dollors to 6

You can get 50 amps for 3000 baht, but it can cost you 10 times that if you don't know how to haggle or buy in a tourist area (bangkok etc.)

The whole Thai culture is built on haggling, so if you don't haggle it aint cheap.

You can get 1000 pinkies for about 600 baht

ye, i've heard you hire these chicks and make them haggle for you and show you around. so i should always like offer to pay half the price they tell me it is? i plan to buy most of my stuff in pattaya which is a tourist place, should i go else where?

Pattaya is expensive too, if you don't understand haggling you would be better to get someone to do it for you, you tell them the maximum you will pay, they offer a lot less and hopefully a deal can be struck below your top price, and offering half is way too high. Be prepared to walk if your price is exceeded there's tons of suppliers over there
