I went to see it the other night and it is quite intense. This was the first time I have left a movie theatre where the audience was in complete silence. I was considering taking my kids (ages 9 and 12) before I saw it, but the violence and suffering are just too real for them at that age, though I would love for them to experience the message. I consider myself to be a passionate, practicing (though sinful) Christian, so I don't think it was a "life-altering" experience for me. But I'm sure it will change lives and I'm very glad Gibson got his message out in this film. I would have preferred to see a little more history on the life of Jesus and less violence, but was still a great movie. And yes I did shed a few tears (there is one scene in particular that grabs you), but most of all I wanted to get out of my seat and beat the shit out of the Roman soldiers for what they did to him (not a very Christian thought I know).

Whats up fellas. I saw it last night with my girlfriend. I'll explain it to u how I just explained it to my friends. If you are a Christian (wich both of us are) the movie will make you understand totally what physical and mental aguish Jesus went through for us. I swear I could almost feel the beatings he was getting..Its unexplainable. Mel Gibson did a great job of bringing the audience into the movie. I do not think that I could wach it again but it was definatly worth it. When the movie was over I felt like I was leaving a church after a funeal mass..U could have heard a pin drop! Mel is the man!

It was an amazing film, gibson needs to direct more. Instead of just shooting a movie, he hasa very artistic sense and is good at creating mood and feeling on screen, hes done this with braveheart too. After seeing the movie I never saw how people are saying the movie was antisemetic, it was a jew who helped him with the cross, a jew that wiped jesus face, even a few of the jewish pharisees were sticking up for jesus, and obviously jesus apostles were jews. I think that the jewish community was initially worried the film would create antisemetic feelings but then everyone jumped on the ban wagon and began calling the film antisemetic.
