upcoming surgery.

hey guys, been around for a while on alot of the boards including meso, but have stayed quiet on here for a while. now i'm trying to get some feedback. 8 months ago i tore my pec and i am just now going in for the mri and x-rays in 2 weeks, then the surgery will be shortly after that. my question is this, is there anyone on this board who has had this surgery and what should i expect post surgery. i realize these are questions to ask my doctor, but i want feedback from someone who has personally experienced the surgery and not just a doc. a little info on the injury. at the time of the tear i was 18 years old. i am now 19. the injury occured while i was benching. i was pushing out my 6th rep at 375 and heard a loud pop and tearing sound like a pair of jeans ripping. all this was at a body weight of 290lbs. at the time i did not want the surgery but now have decided it is for the best as my strength will hopefully return to somewhere near it's original level, and i will be able to compete again. no more football though, i'm now turning to bodybuilding. anyway, that's the whole story, hope the question wasn't lost in my babble. any reply's are greatly appreciated as the surgery will be relatively soon. thanx guys.

a couple of guys have had it done. why did u wait 8 months? pm whid, he just had surgery a few weeks ago

didn't want to have it done... at first i didn't think i needed it. within 3 weeks i was able to do 225 for 5 again so i thought at the time that my strength would return on it's own. eventually i've realized taht it won't return to nearly the same level without the surgery, and obviously my chest isn't growing the way it did before and it's so frustrating, so now i decided to have it done.
