The doorman is a twit. If it was me, it'd be very hard for me not to totally call the doorman out. I'd give him the biggest rash of shit in the universe. But you can't do this, because the uneducated slime has a lot of power over the building. He could make your friend, and his guests who come there miserable. Just make absolutely clear that he fucked up big time.
