what do you think would happen if Islamic terrorists bombed the Vatican??

I have been hearing reports and reading that Islamic terrorists are planning on bombing the Vatican. I personally feel that to piss off over 1 billion catholics would be the dumbest thing you could ever do. I hope that terrorists are not that stupid. What are your thoughts on this, and what do you think the repercussions.

I think that i would then believe in Karma. Before you all flame me, look into the ugly history of the catholic church. Start with the origin of Friday the 13th having a negative connotation.

Another thing, ( i know i am totaly hijacking this thread ) but this attached photo very clsely resmbles the actual "Cross " of christianity, not the cros you see everywhere now. That was also something perpetuated by the Catholic's to help people forget about the pagans, and Chrisitanity as a form of its own seperate and very differnt religion than Catholicsm offered.

I think the Islamic terrorists would attempt it if given the chance. My opinion is if you don't convert to their extreme beliefs from top to bottom. Then your an enemy no matter who you are.

I would like to see the Catholic church nuked. You are absolutely correct about the atrocities. It is virtually unknown by most that the vatican helped many Nazi war criminals flee europe as the war (wwll) was winding down. They are one of the richest organizations of tax free wealth in the world and that kind of power carries major corruption along with it. A shame they controll so many peoples minds and actions. OK so now ya can flame my ass too. I was born and raised Catholic but the best thing I ever did was research this controlling tyrannical empire and got away from them.

I have been to the vatican and i am not very religious. St Peters cathedral in the Vatican was one of the most incredible things i have ever seen, so yea it would suck if those fruit loops bombed it.

Nobody ever said that the Vatican wasnt beautiful...If you can make yourself look at it without knowing its history , without knowing the MILLIONS of people have suffered to create it . I personally cant.

This whole conflict isn't about religion, it's political more than anything else. I suggest you do more reading on the subject.

I completely understand the entire political landscape of the whole ordeal. I was just stating that to target such a large religious shrine would be bringing undo attention to your cause. Even that crazy asshole Osama Bin Laden said "even terrorism some times is ill conceived". To target the religious symbol of an entire religion would be the worst thing that I believe anyone can do. If a christian was to march into mecca and blow it up, what would the repercussions be. Every crazy muslim in the world would be out of control. I just believe to target Italy is one thing, but the Vatican is a one way ticket to hell. And whatever your opinions are on the Catholic church and the Vatican, all those discrepancies would be overlooked in the wake of blind unadulterated hate for Islam.

1) Where and When has OBL ever considered himself a " terrorist " ?

2) You mean metaphorically that targeting the Vatican would be a " one way ticket to hell " , dont you ? Do you really believe that there is a hell somewhere other than on this planet ?

3) Discrepancies is hardly the term i would choose in characterizing the crimes against humanity , against god if you believe in such a being and Jesus of Nazareth, that have been committed by Catholics in the name of Catholicsmic ( is that a fucking word ) righteousness.

4) Italy and Rome seems a far more innocent target than the Vatican itself does, IMO.

Almost every woman i know, who knows anything about religion, would say " HA-HA" to anything bad happening to the Vatican and its "values " for the stance that the Vatican has takes on women of the world. I personally like women.
