Imma take the old 16 gauge out and bag some pheasants this year...Was all scheduled last year and then I decided it would be a good idea to break my collarbone...

bow starts mid october here. i'm lucky enough to always hunt private land. while we dont have any trophy animals around, they do put meat in the freezer.

i better pull out the ol' bow and practice some too. its been a a while.

I can't wait!!!!!! I have 2 leases this year in south Texas. I will see some trophies!!!!! I am also ready for goose/duck/dove season. My ole 12 guage needs to be unleashed. Damn I love Texas!

Bow hunting, now I would love to do that! What kind of range does your bow have Joe? Have you got any pics of the bow and the arrow type you use?

Good to see some other hunters on the board. I just got my Mathews set up and ready to go. The last time I went hunting was when I was 18. After the buck I shot then I do not know if I will be able to top it. He was a 16 point with three drop tines and dressed out at 195 pounds. I shot him at 25 yards away and he only ran 40 yards and fell. I damn near jumped out of my treestand to run(I really did run) to tell my dad who was hunting about 300 yards away. The funny thing is I took a look at a picture of myself with the deer and I was only 155 lbs. I am now 205 and still feel small. lol

I've been hunting for about 30 years and it's the only reason I have to look forward to fall, knowing that cold michigan winter is coming, went up north 2 weeks ago and made sure my tree stands and steps were in good condition, bow hunting starts oct 1st here while the weather is still good, I've hunted more then once in a t-shirt, here's the site I use on my bow. http://www.eotech-inc.com/arch_hwsmodels.php
