worst weekend ever!!!!!!!!!!!

well last thrus. some asshole though that it would be funny to open the gate to my fence where my dogs are...both of them disappeared.i search till 3am and didnt find them.the next morning i started to search some more and finally found my weimer...husky was still gone...well sat. i tracked him down(after knocking on every door in the area).anyway someone shot him in the gut.there isnt any vets open on the weekend here...so i took him home and shaved the wounds and cleaned them with peroxide.he seemed ok,but i took him to doc today.now this is the sad part.i couldnt get away from work so the wife had to take him.when they got there,he when back and got checked out...got his meds and what not.well at this particular vet they keep cats around for some reason.anyway while she was writing a check to pay,and cody(husky) jumped up to see the girl behind the counter and a cat walked by him and of course he just sniffed him.them this dumb cat turned around hissed and popped him in the nose.bad idea!he snatched that cat off the counter and shook it around like a stuffed animal.needless to say it was dead as hell!she called me at work so i could come get him,and though that they were going to put him to sleep.the vets where very pissed and acted like my dog was a menace.we both apologised a thousand times and told them that he's never acted like that before.they still acted like we were scum for having such a "mean" dog.do you think that we or the dog was in the wrong?this has bugged me all day.

Definitely negligent on the vets part for letting animals walk around freely. You never know if another animal will set one off, like in your case.

yea man, just know that nothin was your fault, its bad when you have a shit weekend and can trace all the badness back to yourself. shit happens, but im sure karma will come to you soon. best of luck with it all.

oh yea when i asked how he was...she acted like i was the biggest asshole in the world.

this vet must not have much common sense. if it was not your dog it would have been someone else's dog.

the dog was injured, it's going to react when its threatened by another animal, i.e. the cat and its going to neutralize the threat with extremem prejudice.

my dog kills everything; skunks, squirrels, raccoons, muskrats, ducks, etc. he's a lab/pit bull mix, nice dog...jus likes to kill things....at least he does bury the bodies. lol.

thats the way these are (well i always thought it was the weimeraner that killed everything)but they were all in the gate when they were killed (they were tresspassing).i used to get carcases carried to me all the time.i knew that they would kill critters...but not the vets cats,and right off the counter in front of God and everybody!that was embarassing as hell when i went up there to get him.i really didnt know what to say. all i could think was "dumbasses dont yall watch tom and jerry".anyway thanks for making me feel better,i was starting to feel at fault.
