Default Your favorite movies?

I enjoy many types of films, such as Horror, documentaries,Comedy etc. This list is for films that you could watch 100 times & not get bored with. There are many I could list, but only gonna list the ones that pop in my mind first.

In no particular order...

1. Boiler Room - Coming from a sales Background I can relate to this movie a lot.Went through many of the moral questions, even though you are making good money is it really worth it to drive the luxury SUV if you are hurting others? A great look into the psyche of Salesmen, the movie focused on guys who were creating the market for securities thorugh cold calling aorund the US.The companies were fake, thus the title Boiler room.I sold new cars, which was great money as well, normally $500-$1300 per car sold etc.But I have always wanted to become a stockbroker.

2. WallStreet - Another movie focusing on WallStreet & business in general & the lengths we will go through to 'make it'.Gordon Gecko is the symbol of 80's excess, great movie & great acting. This is the movie I saw as a kid that got me into the stock market!

3. Rounders - Good movie if you play Poker,I got started playing after watching this film, definitely a realistic portrayl of the 'rounder'.Headed by Matt Damon & Ed Norton.Norton's character was the schemer, doing whatever he had to do 'beat the game' even cheating...which is what got his ass beat numerous times.Johnny Chan makes an appearance as well.Cool, fun movie.

4. Scarface - Great 80's movie, this time focusing on the Cocaine Explosion.Al Pacino does an amazing job as Tony Montana,a cuban refugee who comes to America.Tony knew that he had to make it in America,he felt he deserved the world & everything in it and you'd soon find out he'd do what it takes to achieve all his dreams.Towards the end you can see what happens when you achieve that type of success, especially in the drug trade! Tony became paranoid, greedy, and just flat out tired. The movie smbolizes "The American Dream" as many experienced through the selling of drugs, but it also showed the pitfalls, the arrests, the always having to watch your back & never knowing who is plotting against you!

5. GlenGarry Glen Ross - Another great film, originally a play this movie is filled with great actors such as Al Pacino,Alec Baldwin,Adam Arkin,Jack Lemmon,& Kevin Spacey. The movie is another one that focuses around Salesmen & struggles that go on.A classic IMO,if you haven't seen it then do yourself a favor and check it out...most love it,some hate it.Decide for yourself, but if you have ever been in a tight business situation, especially sales then you will be able to relate.

Those are just a few that stood out first, list some more of your favorites.

Well, as much as I disagree with you about Boiler Room, Rounders, or Wall Street being "realistic," you did name some good movies.

American Psycho is good, and I liked Shawshank Redemeption as well.

Brain Donors is my all-time favorite comedy.

I didn't mean the entire movie or plot were realistic, just what goes on with some characters..especially the salesmen, their lifestyles, the way they carry themselves etc.I went through just about everything portarayed in the films once I started succeeding in the car business before my accident.Watched many other guys around me take it to the extreme.Obviously the movies have to be exaggerated to appeal to many others, but how you saw the guys acting in boiler room, flashing cash, living two steps ahead,no respect for anyone, selling their asses off just to make a buck ,every bit of it I have seen firsthand. The partying, the back stabbing, the greed, making $100K a year but blowing it all on drugs, women etc and can't even afford lunch until the next pay check, all of it was realistic in that sense.

American Psycho is one of my favs as well.I am sad to say I haven't seen "The ShawShank Redemption" yet, everyone has told me I need to check it out but never got around to it.

Primal Fear. The Score.. hell, just about anything that has either Ed Norton or Robert De Niro in it.

I thought that Scary Movie 2 was pretty dumb overall, but that shit with the little hand on Chris Elliot (I think) is the funniest thing on any of the Scary Movies and his verbal assaults with the wheelchair guy LMAO every time

"My germs!"

"Bless your heart child, let me give you a pinch."

When he's telling how he prepared the turkey- "I don't even know what this is, but I'll lick it anyway."

Elliot: "Give me your hand"
Wheel chair guy: "Get that thing away from me. Give me your other hand."
Elliot: "It's not strong enough."

I don't know, that little hand is just perfect.
