Muscle Spasms & Cramps: Nutritional causes, prevention, remedies & therapies

the last 6wks my calfs have been cramping, and now my hip flexors knot up whilst doing squats...not fun!! and yesterday it felt like a zit or cyst popped during squats....i think it was the knot moving farther down the quad....hurts to put pressure on it (going up stairs)
cal/mag, l-taurine 3x day and bananas 2-3 day, have done nothing...gunna back off the java for a week see if that helps...then up my sodium...

either way, that link is a mouth full!

any ideas

going to docs to get blood work done i think,, have some quinine here i may try,,

As the summer time approahces your body will need more potassium that is why i recommend at least 4-5 grams of potassium a day for people that are in sports or athletic. Try to get it from fresh veggies is almost impossible, but rather potatoes, yams, are also an excellent source so is swiss chard, and spinach for greens. also advocadoes are high as well plus certain fishes. Most proteiin powders contain trace elements of potassium in them which increases peoples chances of potassium depletion. If one adds in fat burners higher sodium diets , creatine and loads on magnesium, zinc it only lowers potassium even more.
