My doctor added 1 mg (1 ml) of Testim every morning to my nightly 2.5 mg Androderm patch. The first day or so I felt very good. Libido, energy, mood increase. I thought very cool. Than after a few days I started to feel the opposite. Hyper feeling, burning skin, some anxiety. Could such a small increase as 1 mg raise E's enough to cause this to happen? Or is this a reaction to possibly my Pituitary shutting down LH and FSH. I have had a slight burning sensation in my testicles. My Doc thinks I am right on the threshold of my Pituitary functioning using just 2.5 mg of T and even any subtle change will suppress me. She wants me to hang in there so we can get my T levels back up into the normal range all day... not just in the morning as with the single 2.5 mg Androderm patch. It gives 360 - 415 ng/dl in the morning and drops to 125 ng/dl by the evening. My Doc told me to take Klonopin when this nonsense happens and let my system adjust to the higher level for a few weeks. The klonopin does help the symptoms. Than she will run new labs and see where everything is at. Higher T levels definitely help lower the depression I have been feeling. But I just don't know where this other nonsense feelings are coming from. How long does it usually take for the body to adjust to new levels of TRT? Even a very small change such as mine? Weeks? Months? |

morepain...... Thanks for the input. I have actually been taking at least either a .25 mg or .5mg Klonopin daily for over a week now. After the Doc added this gel I needed to take .75 mg yesterday to get calmed down. How much is considered a low dose? Is .75 mg a lot? Yes I do have anxiety about taking it. But if it will allow mw to get my T levels back to normal and break this damn anxiety/depression cycle I will do it. I guess I will have to hang in there for a few weeks or months to see if I adjust. Yes I know what you mean about the Klonopin empowering you. It just scares me that it will have some side effect down the road on me. Maybe that is foolish thinking. My Doc says it is the safest psych med out there. But addictive none the less. I am afraid I will have trouble getting off it.....Thanks Bro! |

What your feeling can be just the change in your T levels Dr. John talks about this happening in some men. It feels and sounds like a spike in E2 but can just be the change of your T going up. Some get a calm feeling when they first go on TRT yet a lot feel stressed. Do you have sore and hard nipples are you getting waves of feeling hot and look red on your upper body and face. This can be E2 spiking. For me going on TRT some yrs. later I started having panic attacks later yrs. later I found out it was caused by high E2. My Dr. gave me Xanax was doing .5 mgs. 3 times a day and they never stopped or gave me relief but made it so I could live with it. If your having a reaction to the change in your T levels then this will level off when you get your levels up and keep them leveled then this will go away as your body adjusts to the new level.
