Default DHEA - worth it?

I want to streamline my protocol. I already dropped Arimidex 12 months ago after only 8 weeks. I will almost certainly drop Proscar. I am also considering dropping DHEA. My levels are in the low to middle of the range and haven't budged with either 25 mg, nor 50 mg. I just bought 75 mg and boy it's expensive. Does DHEA do anything? Is it true that it converts to DHT all too well?

Alot of studies have found that oral dhea isnt effective. as I recall ,it degenerates in the digestive tract. Transdermal application is much beter.
dhea can end up as dht by two different paths. It is the starting place for about haalf of the adrenal hormones

How about transdermal pregnenolone? Would that be a good idea along with the dhea?

This isn't true for everyone, I'm supplimenting with oral DHEA, and have before and after blood tests to prove it is effective.

I mis-phrased that. Should have said that transdermal is much more effective. And I cat find the studies that support my original statement.
Yes pregnenolone can be delivered transdermally.
Dermacrin delevers both transdermally.

I've been using country life DHEA & Pregnenolone. I've just started on LEF preg today, as they had run out of the country life.

Same thing for me when I was on a compounded T cream with DHEA my levels of DHEA hardly moved. Taking 25mgs caps it went from the low range to mid range and it's only $6 something a bottle. I feel there are a lot of supplement stores out there selling jumk and if you get this junk and your blood work is still bad try a better brand.
DHEA-25 - 60 cap - PhytoPharmica Immune System
PhytoPharmica is one of the top places to get good supplements.

Yep, Dermacrine all the way. Transdermal is the best way to effectively get DHEA into the bloodstream.

I have also always had a good result with oral DHEA, substantiated by bloodwork. I just had a conversation earlier this week with my doc and he recommends taking a sustained release formulation. He said it produces a more even blood level.

But are high DHEA levels worth it?

Honestly I believes it depends on the state of the adrenals. I've taken up to 75mgs/day orally of DHEA before adrenal support and my numbers didn't even budge. As soon as I started HC, my numbers doubled. I believe that if your adrenals aren't supported, your body robs the DHEA.
