What does dopamine feels like ? Is one expected to be tense, nervous and anxious from Dopamine, or is it rather supposed to make one relaxed and happy ?

I remember reading somewhere that a guys need for dopamine is higher then a womens, dopamine rises in your brain from visual stimulation like looking at anything wich catches your attention.

dopamine also rises from rewards like getting money, finishing a days work etc.

If you have too much I could imagine it would make you nervous etc as it is stimulating, drugs like caffeine, cocaine, ice and speed work on dopamine, and testosterone also raises dopamine, but couldnt imagine it would cause any adverse effects like nervousness like recreational drugs would.

From my experience, In small amounts it makes your very content with whatever you do, gives you energy, quicker reflexes, better concerntration and coordination, in high doses I am not sure what it would do, I am asuming it would make you agitated like having too much caffeine wich also works on dopamine. But keep in mind I know jack compared to what a doctor or psychiatrist would know about brain chemicals, I am just speaking from personal experience.

Dopamine from precursors like tyrosine or from Macuna pruriens should not be a problem although it is good to balance large amounts with lysine and 5-htp. Pharmaceutical L-Dopa used for Parkinsons in LARGE doses causes deficiency in serotonin and resulting depression.
Dopamine is excitatory. That is good for lethargic depression, maybe not for nervous depression/anxiety.

Hum, I'm *definately* not the lethargic type--Dr. Braverman found me to be overstimulated.......might explain why I only derive benefits from such soothing substances as : theanine, valerian, zinc, magnesium, and even colostrum, st-John's wort.
