as i posted earlier,i was using 10mgs of nolvadex for almost 2 months. the effects on my T levels were minimal at best, however,i did get my levels tested and should have the results in a few days. i strongly feel that clomid exerts more of an effect on the hypothalymus(LH stimulation). after using nolvadex,i still felt weak and frail and last week started hcg every mon-wed-fri at 300iu. i have to tell you,the hcg is making a huge difference;more energy, much better libido... as for clomid and why i have'nt opted for its use,i am concerned about long term vision problems. is there any evidence that vision problems from clomid can be permanant? also, with regard to nolvadex,i know it works as an estrogen at certain area's of the body, can that have any negative effects? thanks |

Clomid often induces untoward visual effects (i.e. “tracers”), and can cause emotional lability by virtue of its estrogen agonistic effects at the more peripheral (emotion) brain sites. From this Thread Side effect of TRT?? Here is a link to the search. http://forum.mesomorphosis.com/searc...earchid=185412

Clomid does work better at raising LH and secondarily T levels than tamoxifen. Clomid acts as a partial agonist/antagonist at the hypothalamic pituitary level. Tamoxifen acts as an estrogen blocker and is not known to have any agonist effect on estradiol. This will assist in blocking the effect of estradiol production from Clomid. Clomid does have ocular side effects which will disappear with discontinuation of the medication. This seems to appear with doses of 100mg or greater per day. I do not recommend a dose greater than 100 mg per day. There are no studies that show an increased effectiveness at greater doses. hCG will produce T by direct stimulation of the Leydig cells so it I not surpassing that you felt better after beginning this medication. This brings back the initial question as to the reason for using the medications. It is not possible to comment on their use without knowing the underlying cause. Peace Mike
