Dumb question but curious

my buddy had the flu and lost about 12 pounds from hitting the bathroom every 5 minutes. although going to the bathroom makes you lose weight,will you also lose any fat?

Probably so, in that the first thing one generally loses (when losing weight) is fat. Much of his weight loss was also, most likely, due to dehydration. As soon as he's feeling better and is able to restore his fluids, most of his weight will come back quickly. I just went through the same thing. Not fun!

About 90% of the weight loss is water weight.
Your buddy that lost 12 lbs, 1LB is fat. 11 water.

I agree that most of the weight lost was probably from fluid depletion. I fever, though, will take burn the weight really fast. For every degree normal, a person's caloric requirement increases 10-15%.

Laying on the couch watching daytime TV with a 103 degree fever for two or three days can peel off several pounds.

i heard that the fat actually binds to the cells and shitting won't make you lose fat? is this true? or is some waste actually fat?
