Dutasteride

Does Dutasteride have the same problems as Finasteride? Or have they tweaked the chemical structure and eliminated the problem - doubt it. As I understand it, less than 10% of men have a problem with it(which is a lot) and those were men who had a very high DHT level in the first place.

The fact that, that sentence makes no medical sense would be enough for me not touch it. NOBODY knows what the score is with this drug or finasteride.

Let me break it down for you:

1. I have heard that less then 10% of Finasteride users have a problem with it.
2. This is an unacceptable level.
3. I have heard that the 10% having problems with it all had very high DHT levels before treatment with Finasteride
4. The implication is that those not having very high DHT levels were not effected adversely.
5. Does anyone else have any information on this subject?

Stating that you wouldnt touch it with a ten foot pole is nice to know but doesnt really add to my knowledge of the sublect. But I do appreciate your comment as it has allowed me to practice my typing skills; which is one of the reasons I am here. The other two being to learn a thing or two and to help others when I can.

I think you took me the wrong way. I am saying that the action of the drug in no way reflects what the drug SHOULD do.....eg..high DHT levels and still side effects....

Im saying the fact that what it does to your body doesnt make sense, should be enough to deter anyone from trying it.....

LOL. FUck me bro. I might have been a little touchy from too high estrogen level. There doesnt seem to be much in the lit. about sexual side effects. Its a damn mystery alrite.

Please stay away from that stuff. I was on Avodart (dutasteride) for three months and it knocked my libido to zero. The doc said the effects would be temporary, so I stuck with it for a while. Then I read a post on my BPH forum that said the effects could be permanent, and I immediately quit, but low libido and accompanying ED continued. That was three years ago, and I'm still struggling. I'm a longtime lurker here, but this is my first post. I'll tell you all my own sad story one of these days, but every time I hear the word dutaseride, I cringe, so I wanted to pass on the warning.

I am hearing that your libido is down.
Have you checked your T, SHBG, E2 and DHT levels.
Have you made an effort to get them to where they are expected to be?
Post your lattest TotalT, SHBG, E2 and DHT levels.

Please do tell us your sad story. We may be able to help you. There is nothing you could possible say here, that we havnt heard already.....so dont be shy about it...lol.

I`m concvinced. Ill deal with the BPH someother way. But I`ll mention it to my dr. just to se what he says. Dollars to donuts hell willl think it is ok.
