Yesterday morning i was admitted to hospital. I had chronic ear pain (right ear) and couldn't hear properly due to a "pulsating" feeling. My hearing was somewhat "muffled" in this ear. I was scared beyond what is imaginable. I am a musician and loosing my hearing would be even worse for me than loosing my sex drive (which i have already lost!). I was kept in hospital and they checked my ear's out. I was told my right ear drum was highely inflammed and i had some blood and puss in there. It had swollen up pretty bad and was closing off my ear. I was given 5 tablets to take a day to get rid of the inflammation and puss to see how thing's improve. What is worrying me the most is that ever since this low t has came along i have had some degree of ear pain (sometimes just mild preasure other times some sharp shooting pains). My skin has also been affected and became thinner and less elastic. My joints have been clicking and in pain at times too (this effects my wrists, elbows, knees, feet and neck and also my back at times). I have always been very skinny so i am somewhat worried i am at more risk for developing osteo. This morning i was checking my nose bone and if felt alot softer and more palable than before, it could move very easily and felt soft, it dosen't have the same strength or feel as before. I am worried because i know we have 3 tiny bones in each ear and these get damaged or become weak then hearing loss is invitable.

Osteoporosis doesn't happen overnight.. It would problably take years of low T to lead to significant bone loss. An early test that can detect increased bone turnover is urinary n-telopeptide - a test fairly well known in Europe, less well known in the US. |

You can ask your doc to write a perscription for a DEXA-scan to see if you really have osteoporosis. It is not unthinkable: I have osteopenia (the beginning of osteoporosis) at the age of 31....due to a lifetime shortage of Testosterone. My bones are the same as the bones of a 50-year old woman, even my teeth are affected...that how I found out I had osteopenia... The best way to combat this is vitamine D and calcium supplements, next to your TRT-scheme of course. |

It is unlikely that very early bone loss could be detected by a DEXA scan. |

How was your hospital stay? Why do you start threads and never get back with us, just start a whole new different problem on a different thread. Is it because your making stuff up?
