I've read a few posts from users of fish oil from another forum (mind and muscle), and although fish oil is expected to to stabilize membane voltages in cardiac cells, some users report increased arrhythmias from it's use. Since I have sinus node arrhythmias--i think they're also called extrasystole by some doctors, I'd like to know whether taking fish oil can turn out to be dangerous in any way ? My initial impression from reading about fish oil is it should rahter be helpful and not detrimental, but since I cannot know all about every substances out there, i thought I'd ask about this here. Thanks Marc |

Chip, Interesting - Didn't know about the arrythmia connection to fish oil. Funny - I also have arrythmia caused by mitral valve prolapse (but it's easity controlled with the smallest dose of atenolol every day). I've been on fish oil (right out of the bottle) for several weeks now, and I've not noticed any aggravated arrythmia. I HAVE noticed, on the other hand, a LOT less pain from inflammation after work outs! I swear this stuff is better than ibuprofen for me. I just take a teaspoon every night after dinner. My stomach tolerates it well (surpisingly). Mac |

There is a lot of evidence that fish oil is beneficial for arrythmias. So much that it should be malpractice to not use it. You should also look at magnesium, carnitine and taurine.
