Default Free Testosterone in pmol/L?

Just got my free testosterone measured in a bloodtest. I was apparently at 42.8 pmol/L (23-80). Can't find anything on the Web that explains this measurement (or at least clearly explains it). Doc says I'm in the "normal" range, but nothing beyond that. Can anyone explain my test results to me? How is pmol/L different from nmol/L?

Are you sure the units were pmol/L? A pico is 1000x smaller than a nano so this would be .0428nmol/L.

So it states right before me: 42.8 pmol/L (23-80). Doc says "mid-range", so if he's right that would surely be 0.428 nmol/L. Don't know if the "p" stands for "pico" and don't why the decimal only moves 100X.

The decimal would move 3 places so 0.0428. That just doesn't sound right. I am not saying you are wrong. It just seems weird. That is only 1.23ng/dL. You might want to call on this one Tuesday.

Maybe the doctor's office erred and it should have been 42.8 pmol/dL?
