i have been using T injections for a while and usually inject in my glutes. the past few years i have been getting lower back pain from the most basic movements especially when in the gym. i had an x-ray and nothing showed up. its not chronic but happens every few months. i am thinking that constantly injecting in the upper glutes is causing my back to go into spasms or at least make me more suceptable to lower back pain. it sounds far fetched but i have been injecting for a long time swithching sides of course. could this have anything to do with it?

For the longest time I would go to my Dr.'s office and get my shots in the upper glutes at the time it was a big 200mg. shot every 2 weeks. Today we all know this is not good and yes I had off and on back pain. I think they were hitting close to a nerve and the oil in this big shot would press on the nerve. Then used a dam big needle and every time I got a shot the spot was sore.

I now do my own shots using a small 27g 1ml x 1/2" lg. needle shooting into my thigh. I have no pain doing this and my shot is smaller because I do them every 3 days. I read here some time a go that Dr. Shippen was doing this to keep his Estradiol "E2" down but he was doing it subQ. I talked to my Dr. about this because I have a big problem with high E2. He said I can do my shots every 3 days but not subQ and it's ok to use a small 27g needle.

I have been doing this going on 3 yrs now no pain and my levels are very good I have no lows. My E2 is much less a problem. I also do HCG shots the 2 days each in between the T shots. So I am doing a shot everyday all into my thigh.

Using a smaller needle the oil comes out slow so I just pull the plunger all the way down and hold it. It takes about a min. or so to get the oil out of the vile. Try this.

keep in mind pgamer,its not soreness from the shot, my back muscles spasm or i pull something much easier and wondering if the shots in the upper glutes can cause that? can it cause a back to spasm or more susceptable to injury.\??

That is what I was saying I feel the shot was close to a nerve and cause me back pain just like what your saying. When I switched to doing my own shots into my thigh this type of pain went away. Here is what I said. "yes I had off and on back pain. I think they were hitting close to a nerve ".

Could it be possible that scar tissue build up from many years of injecting could be putting pressure near a nerve?
