Default Hairy Nipples

I have hair growing around my nipples. Is this an indication of excess Estrogen ? I also have lumps under my nipples that have been there since I was about 14. Im 37 now, the lumps are still there. I shave the hair every few days along with what little bit grows on my chest. Anybody have any insight?

Hair has nothing to do with E's but the lumps should be looked at.

I noticed more hair growth on the chest in general when I started cycling steroids, as well as faster beard growth.

When I started on TRT 22 yrs. ago I had 4 hairs on my chest and 2 on each nipple now I have so dam much hair I need to trim it once every 2 months. I was cutting it all off but my wife will not cuddle with me it makes her itch. So now I do my boys and under my arms. The dam hair grows so long I can't find my dick.

Body hair growth (including hairy nipples, but excluding scalp hair at areas susceptible to male pattern baldness) can be an outcome of testosterone replacement therapy. It occurs as a result of the higher levels of dihydrotestosterone that accompany testosterone replacement. Dihydrotestosterone is the primary male hormone - being about 7 times more potent at the testosterone receptor than testosterone itself.

I haven't noticed ANY hair growth after initiating TRT. I'm still as smooth as a baby's behind on my chest and arms. I don't have sideburns and only a very fine moustache and some sparse hairs on my chin. (Like a teenager). I did grow a tiny line of hair betweem my belly button and ... I went from Tanner stage 4 to Tanner stage 5. It would be nice to see some hairgrowth, especially on my face...but my doc told me not to expect it anymore... He doesn't know why...

I think I'm lacking androgen receptors on the cell level because my DHT levels and androstenedione gluceronide levels were normal in the last few months...

Get your DHT tested you could be low and being on the gels in time will bring DHT up.

Could also just be that genetically you don't have those receptors. Not every man is programmed to be a fuzzball. I'd rather have your pattern, but I have hair everywhere. Oh well.

Phil, Wildfox,

Agreed, it doesn't bother me that much on a personal level either. However, the fact that I look like a teenager is a big social handicap. You really don't understand it unless you have to deal with it every day. Let me try to explain this by giving you some examples.

I work as a consultant. The first time when I meet the board of directors, I always have to hear "what's this kid gonna teach us?", "does he have experience"?.

A lot of times, I have been contacted by other companies that want to offer me a management function because they saw my resume and references and they ware convinced I was the right guy for the job. Everytime I got told I couldn't have it because "nobody likes taking order from a kid" (no: it was not my age, it was the way I looked: they hired somebody even younger then I was)...

So, I keep on consulting dumb ass directors that look like big men, but that haven't got enough brains to do their job properly and that need to hire consultants to do it for them....

A few years back, I went on a business trip to Boston with some key accounts. I worked for a major american manufacturer and I had invited the topmanagement of big companies to the production plant in the States. In the plane, we all ordered a glass of wine. The stewardess refused to serve me alcohol because "she didn't think I was old enough to drink". (I was 28 at that time). The whole plain looked at me...

When I go to the movies, they always play commercials of Gilette... I've heard numerous times: "he won't need it!!", from kids half my age... I don't like it: it embarasses me and my wife on a moment where we just want to relax.

I can't even keep track of the times when I was refused to enter a disco because I wasn't 18 (although I was 30).

I can go on and on with this list...

So, you see. It's a social handicap. I has costed me a lot of career opportunities (hence a lot of money) and it has costed me a lot of good times... I just don't like having a handicap that can be fixed by getting my hormones straightened out...

Hey I know where your coming I had a trainee when I was working his dad was in upper management and he was on a management training program. At one of the big 3 I was a Union Engineer and the only one that would help train these kids out of collage. John was his name he was in his 20's and looked like he was 12. Men would walk by and ask me if I was a baby sitter in front of him. As I trained him I also showed him how to stand up for him self. Not that you have this problem but to make a long story short today John is the CEO of manufacturing. Believer me it was a long hard road for him.

Great story. Yes, we (the baby faces) have to stand up for ourselves, because our disease is unknown to the "average Joe". Yes, it is a hard road we have to travel. Let me tell you what just happened one hour ago. I had to go to a doctor's office for my yearly check-up for my employer. It was a new doc. Now, all he has to do is take my bloodpressure and sign of a paper stating that I'm "fit for work". Well...he refused. He said: sorry, but by the way that you look, I will have to ask for a lot more bloodwork, I suspect you have waisting syndrome. I told him not to bother, that I have plain and simple hypogonadism and that I was being treated and that everything was fine. He refused to accept that, so he wrote a letter to my PCP asking for all my lab-reports. If my PCP can't deliver them within a week.....I'm out of a job...... Why? Because I look a bit different....

It is a continuous struggle. Firstly, it is a continuous srtuggle with the medical community because they have no clue how to diagnose you and no idea whatsoever how to treat male hypogonadism. Secondly, it is a continuous battle against bureaucracy, as illustrated by my story above...

Sometimes, I REALLY lose my patience over it!! Thank God, there are still a few good docs left!
