I am using HCG and really liking the response. However when I think about stopping or how long to continue I have many questions. When searching about hcg I read a variety of doseages and suggestions. Prior to HCG my normal total test had gone down from 560 to low 400's. Looking back and reviewing the low progesterone, decreased dhea, recent lower blood pressure that was also occuring I wonder if I was looking at more adrenal sluggishness. Now 45 days ago I started hcg at 100 i.u. a day and total test has increased to 730 although estradiol increased from 28 to 48 too. I added .25 milligram of arimidex every other day and progesterone cream since then and about to retest. Now my questions: ![]() *Seeing I am still doing hcg what labs are good to run? I am thinking just total test, estradiol, and progesterone. Sound reasonable? What else to add to rule out/or discover adrenal isues? Would taking the above mask those results? *FSH/LH went way low since starting HCG. Will this necessarily require clomid/nolvadex to restart? Could arimidex, diet, and exercise in theory get lh/fsh restarted? And if so what things in the diet encourage such a restart? *I am doing 100 i.u a day. In theory would 200 i.u. every other day or 350-500 i.u. twice a week be easier to come off of? *Would staying on hcg for like a year be reasonable for someone who wants to restart their own endogenous production later? Or have I already done it too long coming up on two months? Thanks............................................ .......... |

Since no one has responsded to your question I will try and answer some of it. I have just started HCG so, don't count me as being the absolute most correct in my answers. Labs probably should be Free and Total T Progesterone E2 FSH/LH Maybe DHT but someone else might chime in here. It is my understanding the HPTA usually will come back quickly with the testis in good working order which they should be w/HCG. Isn't this a long term therapy for you though? Why would you stop? Are you hoping to jump start everything again? My doc has me doing 250 M, W and Fri but, some people split it up to do 100 ED. I am not sure of the benefit although I have heard there is more of a even level with ED shots. Ahhhh.. I see you do want to restart. Well, there is a post and I can't find it where Dr. Scally had someone do a high dose 1500 or so, I think it might have been hackski but not sure. See if you can find this post or contact him and see what he did and why. **** I would not do this high of a dose w/out talking to someone first to make sure you don't burn out your testicles.**** Paul |

Thanks peoples. Yeah, I have been following that thread. Still have some questions, as above though. Obviously I shouldn't just stop hcg from what I have been reading. And since I get such a good response I am inclined to stay on it for 9-12 months then restart. Unless doing so, staying on so long would potentially inhibit such a restart. Yeah, and then there are the large doses which makes me wonder if low doses are just maintaining current rather than improving future testosterone homeostasis. Would I benefit from some large doses prior to restart? How does one judge that? ThankS! Thanks! |
