Hey guys - Just wondering - Anyone else out there have problems with bruising around the injection site, when injecting HCG sub-Q? Any suggestions on how to prevent this? Mac |

I don't do my HCG shots subQ and here is way I get a strong feeling of well being from HCG shots doing them into my thigh with a 27g 1/2" lg. needle doing them subQ I don't feel it and it stings and burns for some time after.

| Never had any difficult w/ bruising using human-derived hCG. Used Ovidrel for awhile which caused noticable bruising and stung badly.

| Thanks, cpeil. I'm using Noverel right now. Is that human-derived?

Yes. What size needle do you use? The smaller the needle, the less trauma. Less trauma equals less bruising. A 31g isn't too small for hCG. |

| I use 25 or 23 for all my shots and have never had a bruise. sometimes soreness, but hardly noticeable. i push the needle in very slow, none of that jabbing.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I checked the syringe guage last night, and they're 30!!!! So, I'm already using small needles. Wonder why I'm so sensitive to bruising? Maybe I should try thigh shots like Skeptic? Is theoretically any difference between shooting in the belly area or the thighs? Oh, also, Skeptic, where exactly do you shoot on the thigh?

One other thing. I bruise easily because I take a blood thinner. When I give myself shots in the belly, I choose a site below my beltline because the pressure of my belt on the injection site often causes a bruise. When I use a site below the beltline, I don't get any injection site bruising. |
