Default headdoc, marianco-estrogen question

i think i've read that excess estrogen binds to androgen receptors which in turn, prevents testosterone from binding. supposedly this is what causes libido problems in men with high estrogen. is this true? if not,how does high estrogen along with high testosterone levels, cause lowered libido?

Obviously I am not Headoc or Marianco but I have heard of an estrogenic response mediated through the AR but I have never heard of Estrogen binding to the androgen receptor directly. Libido is a complex neurological/psychological/physiological happening and it is hard to say that just one or two hormones are the sole reasons for increased/decreased libido. When considering T and E and libido, the results are all over the board. Some guys with high T are ravenous and others have decreased drive. Some guys find that high E kills their libido and visa versa. Others claim that there is a T/E ratio that is important.
