Help find a doc in Ohio

Can anyone point me in the right direction in NE Ohio. I looked up some names from the sticky above, but would rather not pick one at random. Anyone have any opinions? I was thinking of just driving to Michigan to see Swale, but would rather find someone comparable(if that's possible) close to home. thanks, stern

Personally I would just drive to see SWALE. It sounds like your fairly close.

I am in NE ohio as well. I chose to see Swale and am glad I did. Depending on wehre you are its a nice drive up there anyway. If you like outdoors things the big Cabela is on the way and there is also an awesome outlet mall on the way.

Hey, if anyone locates a NE Ohio doctor who will work with SWALE (via SWALE) then make sure I'm on the contact list. My doc almost had a heart attack when I brought up that potential working arrangement. He even speculated if it wasn't "some type of Internet scam" and also stated that such an arrangement couldn't be done if SWALE wasn't licensed to practice in Ohio! My options (from local doc) was 200mg IM shots once every two weeks or AndroGel... I'm currently pushing to get him to switch me from AndroGel to Testim as most who havwe used both seem to prefer the Testim.

BTW, also tried an endo at Cleveland Clinic and wasn't thrilled with them either (also IM shots at 200mg every two weeks - or AndroGel or pacthes... all with minimal comprehensive testing).

Anyway, I have some other medical concerns being currently addresed, but once those get stabilized I plan on making the drive up there also. One of those drives that - for me - is a little to long to drive up (about 6 hours), spend the appointment time, and then drive back in one day, so will have to look at making it an "overnighter"....

But, hey, if you find someone, like I said, put me on their contact list!

For me personally the difference between Androgel and 200mg every other week was amazing. The shots are so much better. On the recomendation of my doctor I usually take a shot every 12-14 days. If I start noticing a huge drop off around day 12 I'll go ahead and take another one.

stat--Your doctor is mistaken. Any doctor can consult with a physician from another state, as long as he/she writes their own lab orders and scripts. This provides for better patient care, as then physicians can be advised by more knowledgeable and/or experienced colleagues who do not live in their state--I should think this is exactly the situation here.

How do you think such operations as the Mayo Clinic operate?

Oh, I understand that.

Absolutely.

Just relating some of the things we "here on the outside" have to deal with.

But many (most?) docs are seemingly like that.

Otherwise you'd have a long list of doctors you could refer to for TRT patients in NE Ohio (or wherever) to go to.

Some of it I just wrote off to "professional jealousy"... it's a shame, but it's unfortunately is a fact of life.

As far as any doctor being able to consult with a physician from another state, as long as he/she writes their own lab orders and scripts.... well, I have to believe that he surely knew that - even though he stated otherwise... so I figure that he has to either have some degree ofprofessional jealousy or doesn't want to admit that it's something that he really doesn't know as much as he thinks he does...

BTW, I find that to be the case with most docs (that I've dealt with) who treat just a small handfull of TRT patients on the side. They really think that TRT is a very simple treatment process.
