I just got back my labs and it cautioned that I should be tested several times in order to get an avarage reading. So the question begs: how often, every month? how many times, should I keep day of week, time of morning consistent? Testing for: Testosterone total 582 ng/dl (ref range 241-827) SHBG 34 nmol/L (ref range 8-46) Testosterone free 136 pg/mL (ref range 34-194) Testosterone free and weakly bound 268 ng/dL (ref range 84-402) DHEA sulfate 461 mcg/dL (ref range 45-345) HIGH FSH 1.4 mIU/mL (ref range 1.6-8.0) LOW LH 1.5 mIU/mL (ref range 1.5-9.3) Prolactin 5.9 ng/mL (ref range 2.0-18.0) IGF-1 252 ng/mL ng/mL (ref range 86-220) HIGH Estradiol 29 pg/mL (ref range 13-54) PSA 0.6 T3 Free 324 pg/dL (ref range 230-420) Man, this will get expensive..... Thanks |

If there is no possibility of getting help, it seems allright for everybody to suffer (equally). If there is a help possible, that help should be paid for by somebody else. It got complicated enough that Dr John does not want to deal with insurance. To clear his guilty concious, I am sure hi does some pro-bono work. I have seen social medicine in Poland, and the American capitalistic blood-sucking non-just way. I hope American way stays as is. With out it I would be done and out in no time. I am doing quite ok now. I like American system as is, it worked for me for the last 35 years. I am 67yo. I used to live under system with socialized medicine, it never worked for me. I just listen to stories of bros from UK and that reinforces my feelings. |

Ahh, I see where you coming from now. You are fortunate enough to have enough money that the inefficiencies and outright ripoffs dont bother you financially. Must be nice. Yes, I totally agree, if ya got the bucks this is the best place to be healthcare wise. But if you are like the majority of people and are sick, youre in a downward spiral. The drugs are WAY overpriced because the Big Pharma has the politicians hooked on their money. The exorbitant cost of doctor consults, procedures, tests, and hospitilazation goes toward CEO`s ionsanely rich lifestyles. I could go on... We`re all in this together. I cant condone a system that fucks over the majority of the population.

just do not throw away baby with a bath water. Just see the complaints of unfortunate people in UK or Australia. I really do not want socialized anything. Believe me it is not for the better. I know people who are on welfare here in USA, she is ready to get her second hip replaced. Free of charge, or rather thanks to the system and taxpayers $$$.. I am sure she will be bitching about what she did not get. I had to buy prostesis for my Mother, go to Poland, bribe the doctors and have the hip replaced. At that time this type of care was reserved for party members only. . How long people have to wait for hip replacement in Canada or UK? My mother's secod hip went while she lived with me in USA. From decission to surgery under a week. |

What does your Dr. say to me it looks like you can be Secondary even with a T level of 582 your LH and FSH sould not be this low. Don't go on any T meds until you know what is going on. First thing I would do is an MRI on your Pituitary to see if you have a tumor. Quote:
