2 months ago I started HRT. I am 35 years old and my starting test level was 325, and my free testoterone was 8.0. Using lab Corps reference ranges I am low normal on testosterone( very low for my age and physical condition). My free test is below normal. I was diagnosed with hypogonadism resulting from a combination of a medium varococele on my left side and a very small right testicle. I eat a very clean diet and I have been working out for years. When I went in for my first blood test 6weeks into HRT my level came back at 1020(this was 5 days post 200 mg cyp injection). The doctor was pretty upset and told me this was too high. I have another blood test this week and I will be waiting 7 days post injection this time. Does anyone think the additional two days post injection will give me enough time for my levesl to fall off a little more.

Your practiioner is spoiling you with being on higher testosterone and after 4-5 month your body will require higher dosages to feel good, I would reduce dosage to bring you back to the 600- 700 range at the trough day 5. Also you need to examine the e2 and keep check on thryoid as TRT can affect thyroid, dhea, and cortisol levels.

Does your body build a tolerance to testoterone. I have read literature that goes both ways!!! I would like to stay on 200 mgs of cyp per week!! Is that too high for TRT?? With the ester attached I read you are only getting about 160 mgs of usable testosterone??

you need to look at the improvements in symptoms as well as how it is being metabolized over 24 hour peroid what sotrce did you hear from only using 150 mgs of 200 is total bullshit. it varies from person to person. I had people on 140 mg a week and tested low over 24 hours I am working on correcting this phenomon. |

Thanks for all the info. I was just reading that when you inject 200 mgs of cyp you only have 160mgs available the reet is destroyed by the ester. Back to my question though does your body build a tolerance to test?? I am looking at trying to get my levels at 900, is that too high?? Also do anyone think that 200mgs of cyp is too much per week?

Our bodies are certainly trying to fight to maintain homeostasis.. so going too far beyond what your body perceives as a natural state of affairs (for instance by shooting up way too much test) will most likely make your body fight back harder. Very high doses of testosterone also run the risk of suppressing the HPTA more permanently, hence the reason some guys who have done roids never recover fully, whereas guys that have been on TRT at physiological doses can usually get back to their previous natural T levels if they choose to discontinue the therapy for some reason. Again, I think it comes down to the individual in question.. some do better with slightly higher blood levels of T, some thrive in the mid normal range (600 or thereabouts). 900 ng/dl certainly looks like a good number on paper, but it all depends on how you feel with such T levels. |

It depends on alot of different variables and how your body is using it. 100 mgs may be too much or 180 may not be enough that is way you need to see what the body is doing with it over a 24 hour peroid to really know..Simple solution would be rhiens 24 hour urine test for verification and people symptoms are more relfective of the 24 hour urine vs serum.

With the doctor wanting me to get my test level down in the 800's do you guys think that 7 days post injection will be enough time for my levels to fall off. Like I stated in my original post my test level 3 weeks ago was 1050 and that was 5 days post 200 mg cyp shot!!

It is totally conterproductive when doctor tells you to do big shot and two days latter wonders why your TT is so high. This is bunch of bull twice over. Once, he puts you on rollercoaster second he worry about wrong number. You have to convince your doctor about few things. 1. frequent dose, at least 2xweek, I do E2D 2. worry about your FreeT, but definitely do not test for FreeT. FreeT have to be calculated using TotalT and SHBG values and a chart. You want FreeT(160-300) The closer to 300 the better. Frequent injections will help you keep your estradiol in check (flat or close to flat), (because T levels will be relatively flat due to frequent T injections). My individual T shot is very small, 0,25cc of 200mg/mL DepoT) You may still need Arimidex/Liqudex/Anastrozole, but it will be easier to get handle on E2. You want to keep your DHT at upper range or slightly, only slightly above high range. With above method it is easier to get handle at FreeT and DHT. At this point erection depend heavily on your individual sweet spot for E2. Eventually you will observe nightly wood, that will help dealing with E2. . I draw blood 48 hrs after T shot. In my case it is right before next T shot. Works fine for already over a year. . . Last edited by JanSz; 07-21-2008 at 09:22 PM. |
