Default Hydrocortisone Question

Hey Guys, I see alot of famillar faces here, can't believe it took me so long to get here.

How long does it take for an OTC cortisone cream to leave the body ?

I am due for followup labs for my TRT and I have been using the cream for persisant, life long excema. I just want to get an accurate picture without the cream in the mix.

Here are my last labs from 8 months ago - my cortisol is out of control. My doctors answer was esentially "calm down" and recommended Dr. Wilsons "adrenal" vitamin formula.

These are saliva test results.

Estradiol 1.6 Normal range 0.5-1.5

Progesterone 15 Normal range 25-100

Test 131 Normal range 50-200

Dhea 14.5 Normal range 3-10

CORTISOL MORNING 12.6 Normal range 3-8
CORTISOL NOON 87.9 Normal range 2-4 (thats right - 87.9 with a normal range of 2-4)
CORTISOL EVENING 10.4 Normal range 1-2
CORTISOL NIGHT 41.3 Normal range .5-1.5

I do wanna add that I still feel pretty shitty.

Stress out of control, heart racing alot of the day.
I have developed a twitch in my eye that started the week I started Test Cream - I still need to explore that further.

I also am prolly gonna look for another doc. This one has told me stuff that was flat out false like "test cream will not shut you down"

When I told him that I felt my estrogen was high because I was feeling too emotional, he suggested that I see a therapist.

You could go to http://www.lef.org/
do search on Cortisol
I did one for you:

Thanks - I did not realize how rambling my posts were untill I re-read them.
I am going to start the regimen listed in the article

I need new labs, the ones above are over 8 months old.

I am good at complaining, I need to figure out why I feel shitty and take steps to fix it.

These numbers can't be right. Is it even possible to go that high above the range? Was there anything that could possibly have been wrong with the samples you sent in? You should have a chat with the lab about these numbers and get their opinion about redoing it.

The doctor said the levels were correct. He even said that his levels were that high at one time.

They gave me a cortisol supression test, just to rule out cushings disease. It was negative.

My adrenaline runs all day long. I take Klonopin to keep it under control. In all honesty it's probably mini panic attacks that I have through out the day.

I am going to take another test this week, I have not changed my habits any - if this round of tests comes back in the same range then I am going to have to make some changes.

Keep in mind that these ranges are before I started TRT. I am on 1ml of Test 10% cream per day.

I have put off retesting because my doctor only will do saliva tests. My insurance wont cover saliva and the doctor wont order blood tests he says they are not accurate enough.

You Estradiol seems high, which could be causing you panic attack problems as Phil mentioned.

I think your doctor is mistaken here. Saliva testing is best for Cortisol only, and blood testing is best for everything else. This is a post by swale, and he is one of the best TRT doctors out there. A number of books written by some of the top HRT doctors out there all use blood testing. There is absolutely no reason that you should be going to any unnecessary expense.

Yes don't waste your money on Saliva tests for hormones just tell your Dr. you don't want them. I have seen guys that have done both and by the way they felt the blood test was on the mark. You just can't be way up over the top of the range on Total and Free T doing a Saliva test and the same week doing a blood test and down on the other end. If all Dr.'s did Saliva test no one would be on TRT. Ever one I have talked to that did this was to high on Saliva and needed TRT doing blood work. I am talking about new guys not on TRT.
